Welcome to Badges of the Brazos! I'm thrilled to share the fascinating stories I've uncovered during my research into the history of the Brazos County Sheriffs. Come explore with me as we dive into the rich history of this corner of Texas, focusing on the dedicated men who served and protected our communities from the county's earliest days. We'll also uncover intriguing tales of iconic Texas Rangers and other compelling bits and pieces of local history that are just waiting to be told!

Vicki Smith-Dicky holds a B.A. in History from Sam Houston State University. She is vice-chair of the Brazos County Historical Commission and serves on the Advisory Board of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum.
Additionally, she is the president-elect of the board of the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History and is a member of the La Villita Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Vicki enjoys researching the former sheriffs of Brazos County and sharing her findings with various organizations in the community.
