For the past few years, I've been researching the history of the Sheriffs of Brazos County, and I'm excited to share the fascinating stories I've uncovered from the county's earliest days. The research continues, and I know there are many more tales waiting to be told!
I'm thrilled to share these discoveries with you, so come on in and let's explore the rich history of this corner of Texas together!
There's something compelling about the history of a place, particularly the stories of those who served and protected it. Join me as we explore the history of Brazos County, focusing on the dedicated sheriffs who watched over our communities. I will also share some stories of iconic Texas Rangers, along with intriguing bits and pieces of Brazos County history!
Vicki Smith-Dicky holds a B.A. in History from Sam Houston State University. She is vice-chair of the Brazos County Historical Commission and serves on the Advisory Board of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum.
Additionally, she is the president-elect of the board of the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History and is a member of the La Villita Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Vicki enjoys researching the former sheriffs of Brazos County and sharing her findings with various organizations in the community.
